As many people who goes on a diet always think of fat as unnecessarily thing for their body because it made them unhealthy and look less attractive. It is a wrong idea because I said earlier about the good and the bad fat in your body in my fat facts article. Having zero percent of fat is impossible even if it is for a body builder. Most body builder has around 3.5-4% of fat percentage, but if we want to live healthy and do not aim to be a body builder, we will not that little amount of fat percentage.

Why do you think women always have higher overall levels of body fat compare to male? It is because female body needs to be capable to give birth to the babies. We all know that we stored fat because we want to store up energy so for emergency or when the body need calories it will burn the fat for energy.

There will be a period in pregnancy when you will undergo a starvation state and this is why fat is needed. If a women’s body fat is too low, their menstrual cycle will stop and they will not be able to give birth any longer until it goings back to normal again.

This is a reason why people who wants to lose weight need to lower their fat percentage level. Fat will regulate your appetite and keep you to maintain your body weight. As you see fat is not bad for your body, it is good for your body but it need to be control in safety amount, because we all know that too much of anything will never be good. Everything has its own safety amount which we suppose to have and control.
